Colt’s Manufacturing Company LLC, in conjunction with Junior Shooters magazine, is proud to announce its sponsorship of Cody Leeper, the top-ranked junior shooter in the 2012 3-Gun Nation Series.
As a Colt-sponsored 3-Gun shooter, Leeper will be shooting a version of the all-new Colt Competition CR PRO rifle. The new CR PRO, a licensed product of Bold Ideas, LLC, a leading designer of competition firearms, has many features 3-gun competitors demand, including an 18” stainless 1/8 twist barrel, 3.5 pound trigger, floated hand guard and Surefire® muzzle brake.
In the two short years that 17-year-old Leeper has been participating in 3-Gun competitions, he has managed to make a name for himself in 3-Gun community by earning some of the sport’s highest honors. In 2011, Leeper earned the title of 3-Gun National Junior Champion. Leeper is the only junior shooter to qualify for the 3-Gun Pro Series, and he currently holds the top-ranked junior position in the 2012 3-Gun series.
“We are excited to support an up and coming young talent like Cody,” said Joyce Rubino, Vice President of Marketing for Colt’s Manufacturing. “Involving youth in the shooting sports is so important for our industry. Cody will be an excellent representative of the Colt brand, and we look forward to watching him continue to succeed in 3-Gun competitions.”
Leeper’s first competition as a Colt-sponsored shooter with the Colt Competition Rifle will be at the MGM Ironman Competition, where he will shoot on June 7, 2012.
“I am honored to be sponsored by Colt and to shoot its high-quality firearms,” said Leeper. “The accuracy and reliability of the Colt Competition CR PRO rifle makes all the difference in a competition where fractions of a second count. With Colt’s support, I know I will have a successful 2012 competition season.”
The next event in the 2012 3-Gun Nation Pro Series will take place June 16 at South River Gun Club in Covington, GA. At this competition, Leeper will compete alongside Colt-sponsored professional 3-Gun shooter Clint Upchurch.
