COLT ANNOUNCES FACEBOOK CONTEST WINNER
CHUCK MCKENZIE OF MISSISSIPPI TO RECEIVE COLT 6920 RIFLE AS PRIZE

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – Colt Defense LLC, one of the world’s leading designers, developers, and manufacturers of rifles and carbines, is proud to announce Chuck McKenzie of Ocean Springs, Miss., as the winner of the Colt 6920 rifle giveaway contest on Colt’s new Facebook page. “When you enter a contest like this, you never really expect to win,” said McKenzie, “I’ve been saving money to buy this gun, so it was a real treat to win one.”

McKenzie, the one winner out of more than 19,500 entrants, says it was just a normal day until he got the surprising news that he had won the rifle. “I got home from work, put a bunch of food on the grill and then I get this call,” said McKenzie, “This will be my first Colt, so I am really excited about it.”

“People are passionate about this brand and this contest was a huge draw for them,” said David Ridley, Vice President, Colt Defense LLC, who personally called McKenzie to let him know he had won. Colt launched this contest in September as a way to say “thank you” to the long-standing and loyal customer base and to encourage new enthusiasts to join the conversation on Colt’s new Facebook page. Since the launch of the contest, the number of Colt’s fans on Facebook has grown from a few thousand to nearly 55,000.

Fans of Colt’s Facebook page range from gun collectors to military and law enforcement personnel. The page allows visitors to communicate with other enthusiasts as well as a representative from Colt. “Listening and communicating directly with our customers is very important to us, and our Facebook presence provides us with another opportunity to do just that,” said Ridley, “We are humbled and grateful to have such a strong and passionate base of Colt enthusiasts.” To become a fan of Colt on Facebook, visit www.facebook.com/ColtFirearms and follow Colt on Twitter, @ColtFirearms.
