On behalf of COLT DEFENSE LLC, Law Enforcement Sales & Training Division, please allow this to announce the September 27, 2010 and September 28, 2010, training scheduled at the Mattabassett Rifle & Pistol Club in Berlin, Ct. Limited Spaces for this course – maximum of 20 students per course.
Colt Defense LLC, Law Enforcement Sales & Training Department, will provide Defensive Pistol & Rifle training for the civilian community. All Colt instructors are experienced real world tactical operators from a law enforcement/special operations background. Safety is the #1 priority mandated at all training evolutions.
On Monday September 27, 2010, and Tuesday September 28, 2010, Colt Law Enforcement Training will put on a one-day Defensive Pistol (9/27/10) and a one-day Defensive Rifle course. The cost of the course for each student is $225.00 per day. If someone takes both courses, the cost per course will be $200.00 per day. The theme of both training courses will be the first person to put effective rounds on target, wins the gunfight. (Anyone signing up for the courses will need to provide a copy of a current and valid state issued pistol permit.)
Course Descriptions: Both training courses will primarily consist of practical applications on the range. Both courses will discuss/demonstrate the Survival Triangle consisting of Marksmanship – ability to hit your target, Manipulation – ability to handle your weapon, Mindset – 100% concentration, 100% of the time.
Course outlines: Weapon manipulation and presentation, drawing and holstering (pistol), loading & unloading, press checks, positions of carry, immediate action and remedial action drills, combat reloads, tactical reloads, magazine exchanges, scan, shooter’s box concept, and Shooting on the Move addressing both single and multiple threats. The rifle course will include transition to the handgun drills. The goal for both courses is to
progress to advanced training consisting of 90 and 180 degree turns, walking/turning, simulated room entries and engaging multiple threats.
Defensive Pistol
Shooters will be required to bring his/her duty Pistol with at least 3 magazines, retention/belt holder, eye and ear protection, and 500-750 rounds of pistol ammunition.
Defensive Rifle
Shooters will be required to bring his/her duty rifle, equipped with a sling, three rifle magazines, double rifle magazine pouch, duty pistol with at least one magazine, retention/belt holder, eye and ear protection, 500-750 rounds of rifle ammunition, 100 rounds of handgun ammunition.
Both courses will commence promptly at 0830 hours with the range safety briefing. Certificates of successful completion of the course will be issued.
