Colt Law Enforcement Sales & Training Division understands the current budget cuts experienced by most state, county and city law enforcement agencies.
In response to this current matter Colt has slashed their training costs to bring quality training at a fantastic savings.
Jim Markowski, Director of LE Sales & Training for Colt Defense, has over 33 years experience with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and wants law enforcement agencies to know that Colt is totally committed to assisting law enforcement agencies perform their respective missions.
Colt Defense will offer a one-day tactical pistol course on Wednesday September 15, 2010 and a one-day tactical rifle course on Thursday September 16, 2010 at $150.00 per student per course. Training will occur at the Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Firearms Training facility in Salt Lake City, Utah. All Colt instructors are retired/current law enforcement officers and are experienced real world tactical operators from a law enforcement/special operations background. All Colt instructors also have expertise in undercover and tactical operations.
If a course results in 15 people signing up, the cost will be reduced to $125.00 per student. There is also special pricing from the host hotel the Crystal Inn!

Colt Defense seeks to enhance and support law enforcement operations/missions.
Other tactical and live fire courses being offered by Colt are the following:
- Tactical Movement/High risk entries – 2 days
- Covert Movement including the use of specialized tools – 2 days
- Ballistic Shield to include live fire training – 1 day
- Vehicle assaults/Vehicle Rescues – 1 day
- High Risk Vehicle Stops – 1 day
- Undercover support to include officer rescue from both known and unknown locations within a structure
- Operational Planning for assorted law enforcement operations including undercover, arrest and search warrant operations. – 1 day
- Executive Protection/Personal Security Detail – 4 days to include live fire training; practical exercise.
All of the above listed course may also be offered at the Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Firearms Training facility in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Course Descriptions: Both training courses will primarily consist of practical applications on the range. Both courses will discuss/demonstrate the Survival Triangle consisting of Marksmanship – ability to hit your target, Manipulation – ability to handle your weapon, Mindset – 100% concentration, 100% of the time.
Course outlines: Weapon manipulation and presentation, drawing and holstering (pistol), loading & unloading, press checks, positions of carry, immediate action and remedial action drills, combat reloads, tactical reloads, magazine exchanges, scan, shooter’s box concept, and Shooting on the Move addressing both single and multiple threats. The tactical rifle course will include transition to the handgun drills. The goal for both courses is to progress to advanced training consisting of 90 and 180 degree turns, walking/turning, simulated room entries and engaging multiple threats.
Tactical Pistol
Shooters will be required to bring his/her duty Pistol with at least 3 magazines, retention/belt holder, eye and ear protection, and 500-750 rounds of pistol ammunition.
Tactical Rifle
Shooters will be required to bring his/her duty rifle, equipped with a sling, three rifle magazines, double rifle magazine pouch, duty pistol with at least one magazine, retention/belt holder, eye and ear protection, 500-750 rounds of rifle ammunition, 100 rounds of handgun ammunition.
Both courses will commence promptly at 0830 hours with the range safety briefing.
